Art Show at Port of Raleigh, August 2017

I'm showing a collection of new drawings next month at Port of Raleigh, modern home & lifestyle design store in Raleigh, NC. The collection of ink drawings, called Body Shapes, includes works both figurative and abstract: inspirations from the female form and explorations of shape. The work will be up and available for purchase through the end of the August.

First Friday Reception August 4th, 6-9 pm
Port of Raleigh, 416 S. McDowell Street

New Shop: Original & Limited Edition Pieces

I launched a new shop today, full of original pieces: ceramics, ink drawings, and printed shirts. Most are available online for the first time. All pieces handmade and in super limited stock. When they're gone, they're gone! I'll restock with a new batch of original goods sometime down the line. (As always, find prints, paper dolls, and custom portraits in my Etsy shop.)

Morning TV & Custom Order Wait List

In December, my work was on NBC's Today Show! Click below to see the video — and Al Roker's paper doll family!

I feel lucky and grateful to work with so many customers; it's an honor every time a client seeks out my illustration style for a family portrait, wedding invitation, or personalized gift. Thanks to all those lovely clients, my wait list for custom orders has ballooned a little out of control. To start off the new year, I'm taking a break from accepting any new custom orders while I get caught up on the back log. I hope to come back with a shorter turn-around time soon. If you’d like to be notified when custom portraits are available again, you can sign up here.

Thanks for being so great (and patient), and happy 2017!

Upcoming Events

I'm busy prepping for two upcoming craft shows in summer/early fall. First up, Blackberry Pop-up, right down the street in Durham, NC on Saturday, July 30th. More like a big party than a craft show, there will be music, friends, pie, and beer (BYOB). I'll be selling prints, totes, and some new clay pieces in the living room, alongside a group of talented local makers and friends. Find more details here.

September 16-18, I'll be in Greenville, SC for the Indie Craft Parade. I last participated in this show back in 2011, and I can't wait to come back. The Indie Craft Parade bills itself as a celebration of handmade art and focuses on artists and makers from the South. It's one of the most fun craft shows I've ever been a part of, and there's always a line of shoppers around the block. Find out more, or get your VIP tickets for the opening night gala, here

JGO x Ramble Supply Co.

I have work on display (a kind of pop-up shop/art show) in the back room of Ramble Supply Co. for the month of July. The show includes a mix of old and new work — drawings, paintings, and cut-outs from the past eight years — along with prints for sale and a window display (in their big, beautiful, old store-front windows). If you're in Raleigh this month, check it out! Huge thanks to Jessie at Ramble for hosting me.

Print Giveaway!

I've recently introduced some new prints to my shop, and I thought I'd host a little giveaway to celebrate. Here are the rules:

1. Choose your favorite print from the images shown below.

2. On your phone, hold your finger on your favorite, then select "open in new tab" to open and save the full-size image.

3. Post it on Instagram. Make sure to tag @jordangraceowens and to use the hashtag #jgoprintgiveaway

The deadline for entry is 9 PM EST on Thursday, April 7th. I'll announce the randomly selected winner on Friday.

I can't wait to see your favorites. Good luck!

New Cover Illo

I recently illustrated the cover of Charlotte Magazine. My work included five paper dolls, cut-paper speech bubbles, and a cut-paper banner with hand-lettering. It's the February issue — check it out!

Jordan Grace Owens x Lazzari

Italian women's clothing maker Lazzari started carrying my hand brooches in their brick and mortar store last year. The brooches paired perfectly with the brand's quirky, candy-colored collection full of whimsical details (hello, eyelash collar tips). Now the brand has reproduced the hands in metal for two collaborative Lazzari x Jordan Grace Owens bags.

Each leather bag (choose from one hand or two) comes in five beautiful colors, all handmade in Italy.

The bags are part of Lazarri's S/S 2015 collection. Scoop them up!

New Year, New Blog

Along with plans and resolutions, I'm welcoming 2015 with a reflection of the year gone by. Here's a round up of some of my favorite portrait commissions from 2014. Thank you to all my lovely clients who have trusted me to illustrate their wedding invitations, anniversary gifts, family portraits, and holiday cards. I'm looking forward to sharing lots of new work here in 2015. Happy New Year, Everybody!
